POET
OF LINES
How many narratives live in each architect's traits? Architecture tells us stories. Centuries of ideas perpetuate on every surface. Memories are expressed and immortalized in art. Architecture translates an era and a message to the world.
Dell Anno highlights its tribute to architecture. Raising questions of identity and purpose, the relationship between architecture and time, the transformation of spaces, the way in which we inhabit, interact and live. Works that formed civilizations are eternalized in monuments. Dell Anno redeems the architecture and pays tribute to In Memoriam Paulo Mendes da Rocha, a Brazilian architect and urban planner, unique in features, singular in idealizations.
Introducing - Poets of Lines!
This time, that has so much to say, so many words inserted in each dash it's the shapes that make sense of the whole may they be simple or complex, everything is there
The materialized details make each work a poem freely granted to discover, feel and dream
And it doesn't matter if it's an home or another designed shape
That perpetuates itself in time an indescribable plurality designed by the creator, grounded by art
Beauty exists to move us, evidencing reason through the rigidity of function, merging with the soul of the poet of the lines
Paulo Mendes da Rocha
Paulo Mendes da Rocha became one of the most recognized Brazilian architects worldwide. Author of iconic projects such as the Brazilian Museum of Sculpture (MUBe), and the renovation of Pinacoteca de São Paulo, Paulo is commonly pointed out as a paradigmatic example of aesthetic thought. He was an important defender of the architect's social role, which he shared with his students at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism (FAU) from the University of São Paulo (USP).
Along with Vilanova Artigas, he launched the so-called Paulista School of Architecture, which highlighted the social and humanistic role of these professionals. He received one of the most important awards in architecture in 2006, the Pritzker Award. He leaves a legacy of masterpieces as the result of a professional practice marked by boldness and technological refinement.
